NFL | Brees Still Doesn’t Have Contract; Threatens To Sit Out Training Camp

Drew Brees refuses to sign franchise tag and the New Orlean Saints have yet to offer him a long-term contract and Brees doesn’t like it.

He has threatened to sit out training camp if he doesn’t get a contract which the Saints organization have until July 16th to give. AND NOW they are not sure if Brees will miss regular season games if he does not receive this contract. According to ESPN:

Under the league’s current collective bargaining agreement, Brees would have until the Tuesday after the 10th regular-season game to sign his tender or he would be prohibited from playing the remainder of the season. If Brees misses any games, his 2012 salary would be a prorated amount of the $16.371 million based on the number of games remaining once he signs his tender.
