Since August 1st, there have already been 12 murders, due to gun violence, in Chicago.
The youngest victims were two 16-year-olds, Cornell Ferguson and Johnqualus Turner who were both shot down at 600 N. Avers St on August 2nd. Both teens tried to run from the shooting but both collapsed in a nearby yard. The area they were at is a known spot for gang rivalries between Four Corner Hustlers and Conservative Vice Lords. Both teens were from different gangs according to police.
Another shooting occurred on N. Lawler St on August 1st where Quincey Simmons, 18, was shot when a man opened fired on a crowd. A day later, on the same street, another man was killed.
From August 1st to the 2nd, 6 people were murdered.
