Chargers running back Ryan Mathew was just involved in a car crash last week with minor injures. He was grateful for that.
But now, after his first carry in the preseason game last night vs the Packers, he broke his collarbone which will have him out for 4 – 6 weeks.
Chargers lost their backup RB Mike Tolbert in free agency. Mathews was drafted to replace LaDainian Tomlinson in 2010.
Chargers won 21 – 13 last night.
