A New Jersey teen tweeted that someone was in her house and to call 911 and her followers and Twitter users were frightened.
After Kara Alongi tweeted the scary tweet, cops went to her residence and couldn’t find her but found no foul play. NY Daily News reports:
Kara, 16, sent the desperate tweet “There is somone in my hour ecall 911” at around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
Her family called the cops after they returned to their Clark home from a sporting event and couldn’t find her.
Twitter users turned the hashtag “#helpfindkara” into a national trend, while some doubted that she was actually missing.
Cops investigated the house but found no signs of foul play or abduction.
They later determined that someone had called a taxi company for a pickup at Kara’s address, the Star-Ledger reported.
A cab driver said he dropped off a girl matching Kara’s description at the train station in nearby Rahway.
