NCAA | Number One Seed Kentucky Lose In The First Round Of The Tournament

The Kentucky Wildcats did lose a lot of the star players last year to the NBA draft, so some people were expecting Kentucky to not be SO great this year, even though a lot were shocked they didn’t make it to the NCAA Tournament this season. However they did make it to the NIT Tournament.

Kentucky were seeded #1 in the NIT but they shocked the NCAA world yet again as they couldn’t comeback in enough time after being down by 13 and lost tonight to a 8 seeded team, Robert Morris Colonials (24-10), 57 to 59!

Wildcats end their journey with a 21-12 record. The team overall tonight were shooting at 54%, only making 2 of their 10 three pointers and turned the ball over 14 times; Wildcats turned the ball over 413 times this season. The largest lead the Wildcats had all night was only by 1.

Archie Goodwin led the Wildcats with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist (5-9 FG, 8-8 FT).

Don’t worry Wildcat fans — you still have your legendary coach and have 5 top 35 high school recruits coming next season, including the incredible Harrison Twins, Andrew and Aaron.
