Yankees star Derek Jeter will more than likely miss the season opener against their rival, and one of the BIGGEST RIVALRY IN SPORTS HISTORY, the Red Sox. He is not the only star that will be out as Alex Rodriguez will not be playing either due to a hip injury.
Jeter is suffering from a sore knee after playing in a minor league game where he was the DH.
NY Post reports:
“He is not ready for the full duty so it’s obviously looking more likely than not that he will start the season on the DL,” GM Brian Cashman said this morning at Steinbrenner Field. “The more realistic goal is April 6. Right now he is a little sore.”
