The NY Jets signed Eagles former quarterback Michael Vick, giving Jets fans some hope after the inconsistency from quarterback Geno Smith and the release of Mark Sanchez. Assumptions may be incorrect as head coach Rex Ryan hasn’t come out and said there will be a quarterback battle this upcoming training camp. However, wildcat quarterback Vick, who has always been a starter, has no problem with being a backup.
Vick told The Star-Ledger, “Ultimately our goal is to try to help Geno become the best quarterback that he can be. Myself and (third-stringer Matt Simms) are all trying to put him in a position where he can get better from Year One to Year Two”.
