Offseason workouts have begun for NFL teams and usually when a player skips, it’s either they are still recovering from an injury, don’t think they need this training or they are unhappy with their contract.
Niners are already having problem when it come to money for star players like Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree and troublesome Aldon Smith. NFL.com reported that tight end Vernon Davis is taking the “unhappy with contract” route as he wants more money and skipped the OTAs. Davis has two-years left on his six year contract that is worth $42.7 million. Sources state that missing this can jeopardize his annual $200,000 workout bonus and fines as well.
Davis has 850 yards and 13 touchdowns last season but Niners lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship.
