So much for starting off in a positive way.

Freshman running back Devon Thomas has been arrested in Oklahoma on felony charges of armed robbery and shooting with intent to kill.

Thomas and three others were arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon and shooting at the victim as he escaped according to ESPN reports. The suspects knew the victim as the victim named all four of them stating he knew them for years.

Police suspect it was a drug deal gone wrong.

Thomas was ranked 15 in ESPN’s top 300 in the class of 2014 and has a 82 scouting grade.
