Another war between two of the top sport apparel corporations will begin and it involves Oklahoma City Thunders’ Kevin Durant.
ESPN reported that Durant was offered a $265M and $285M deal for 10 years with Under Armour, one of Nike’s big rivals. This is the biggest deal in UA history.
Nike’s profit grew with the Thunder with at least $175M in retail. In Durant’s contract with Nike, they can match the offer from UA. Durant can choose Nike if they cannot match though.
Nike’s last offer gives Durant $20M a year. UA has guaranteed Durant money up front since their basketball campaign is small compared to Nike.
