CNN reports that a man, who does not want to be identified, was video chatting with a female friend when the shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown occurred. You can hear six shots fired, a pause, and then more shots fired from Officer Darren Wilson. We cannot tell what the pause was for as there are many different stories of what really happened that tragic afternoon.
Attorney Chris Chestnut says the pause looks bad for the officer.
“It’s the pause that gives most concern in a police shooting, especially with an unarmed victim, because at this point Mr. Brown is defenseless — he has no weapon”
After those first six shots, was it necessary to shoot another four or five rounds?
But attorney Van Jones and CNN host says this audio doesn’t mean the cop was wrong:
“To be fair, there could be other explanations for that pause. Maybe the officer will say, ‘Well, I fired and he kept advancing, so I fired again.’ “
Officer Darren Wilson has yet to be charged of any crime.
“CNN cannot independently verify the authenticity of the tape and has asked the FBI for confirmation of their interview with the man who made the recording.” – CNN
