Hue Jackson, Cleveland Browns head coach, is looking for a quarterback for his new team and there were reports that Jackson was looking at the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who clearly doesn’t want to be a Niner anymore.
Browns executive VP of football operations has shut down those reports according to Marc Sessler of the NFL. Sashi Brown states the Kaepernick story was “over-reported”.
Browns are now focusing on RG3, former Washington Redskins quarterback. Jackson told NFL Media:
“I think he’s obviously a tremendous talent and a great young man.
He had a lot of success early in Washington and then things just didn’t work out. Those things happen in the National Football League. But at the same time we are going through our process. We are going to be very diligent in what we are doing — trying to make sure that we put the right quarterbacks on our football team and in that quarterback room. And that’s one of my biggest responsibilities and also one of our organization’s biggest responsibilities.”
Browns do have the number two pick in the upcoming draft and can pick up a quarterback like Jared Goff of California or Carson Wentz or North Dakota State.
