NY Yankees 14x All Star Alex Rodriguez told ESPN he will be retiring at the end of this season.

This year is the final year of his $275M contract after the many controversies with the DH.

In his career, he has had 687 home runs, 2055 runs batted in (RBI) and many other highlights in 23 years. Rodriguez won the World Series in 2009 with the Yankees. The 40-year old told ESPN:

“I won’t play after next year. I’ve really enjoyed my time. For me, it is time for me to go home and be dad.”
