Pittsburgh TV Anchor Fired After Racist Comments On A Fatal Shooting

On March 9, there was a horrific Pittsburgh shooting at a cookout that took the lives of five people, including a pregnant woman.

TV anchor Wendy Bell made some troubling comments on the shooting:

“They are young black men, likely teens or in their early 20s.

They have multiple siblings from multiple fathers and their mothers work multiple jobs. These boys have been in the system before. They’ve grown up there. They know the police. They’ve been arrested.”

The statement was posted and deleted on her Facebook. She has been fired. Hearst TV told AP:

“WTAE has ended its relationship with anchor Wendy Bell. Wendy’s recent comments on a WTAE Facebook page were inconsistent with the company’s ethics and journalistic standards.”

Bell apologized for the “insenstive” comments but disagrees with the station for letting her go.

“It makes me sick. What matters is what’s going on in America, and it is the death of black people in this country.”

  1. well shannon……99% of the time it is black people doing severely stupid things like this…….where are the Lithuanians the Greeks the Jews the Russians or even some African tribe…nope its American blacks…..so she got fired for telling the truth what happened to America?

  2. So what about when white people shoot up schools or blow up buildings. How can she be telling the truth if she doesn’t even know the people.
