The Huffington Post reported that so far, for the year of 2016, 136 black people have been killed by police according to the Guardian. Their data is from tracking police killings in America.
The data does include the recent murder of Philando Castile who was shot in St. Paul Minnesota for reaching for his wallet to provide identification.
The Guardian also reported that for the year of 2015, young black men were nine times more likely to be killed by the police more than any other race. Black people are 13% of the US population according to the 2010 Census.
