Man Attacks Danbury Officer


WTNH reports a 20-year old man viciously attacked a Danbury police officer Saturday night sending him to the hospital.

Officer Pooler was sitting in his patrolman car when. He saw Pierre Elhayek pacing back and forth near his area at Jimmy’s Market on Germantown Road. Elhayek then approached the cruiser and started kicking and punching the car. 

The officer thought he needed help so he exited the car and that’s when Elhayek attacked the officer, punching and kicking him. Pooler lost his stun gun in the attack as he was kicked numerous of times in the head. 

Pooler managed to get back into the car and that’s when he called for help. Elhayek continued to punch and kick the car despite that he knew help may be on the way. Backup units and Elhayek into a struggle before taken into custody.
