12 People Killed In North Carolina By Lightning Strikes

A 5-year old boy has been stuck and killed by lightning over the weekend as him and his family were vacationing on Carova Beach North Carolina. This is the 12th death due to lightning strikes in North Carolina for the month of July.

According to National Weather Service, this marks 21 deaths in North Carolina because of lightning strikes. 23 to 48 people die annually in the US from lightning.
