Woman Killed After Telling Man “Get Off Me” At J’Ouvert Festival

A St. John’s student was fatally shot in Brooklyn at the J’Ouvert festival after denying a man a dance according to NY Post.

The 22-year old was walking with friends when a male walked up to her and she told him “get off me” according to NY Post’s source. Around 4:15am, gunshots rung out and Tiarah Poyau fell to the ground on Empire Blvd and Franklin Ave. She was shot in the eye at ‘close range’.

The suspect was arrested after being arrested for driving drunk. He was found with a bloody gan with a Caribbean flag around it. He then later told police he didn’t know the gun was loaded. The suspect, Reginald Moise, did flee to his girlfriends in Crown Heights and called friends to see if he could hide the gun at their residence.
