Well take an easy guess on why.
The struggle continues even if you have a degree, roommates or even housing assistance. Connecticut, NY and NJ are in the top 10 for having the most adults living at home. Some may argue that there are so any opportunities in this area but when a one bedroom is almost $2000/month (excluding everything), you’ll be working 3 jobs just to pay for rent itself.
According to PEW Research Center, adults (18 to 34) are more likely to be living with their parents than living with a spouse or partner in a place of their own. Financial site Earnest reported after surveying 60,000 people:
“In our sample, 15 percent of the adults live with their parents. But that figure is higher in parts of the country with a high cost of living”.
The top 10 states are:
10. New Hampshire
9. Massachusetts
8. New York
7. Mississippi
6. Delaware
5. Rhode Island
4. Pennsylvania
3. Hawaii
2. Connecticut
