Wouldn’t be the first but ESPN reports that 1.4M fewer people are watching the NFL games this season compared to last season.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell claims that the US presidential election was a factor. From week 10 to 17, they did jump from being down 14% to 1% in viewers compared to last season.

The last time there was a drop was the 2000 season with a 10% drop in viewers. That’s the same year of the George Bush and Al Gore election. Another dro pwas recorded in 1996 at 6%, the same year of the Bill Clinton election.
