The referee, who doesn’t deserve a zebra jersey in the NFL or Footlocker, according to Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, has been assigned to the big game.
Kelce ripped Cheffers after a holding call on Chiefs’ completed 2 point conversion that tied the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with two minutes and 43 seconds left. Cheffers then called a hold on left tackle Eric Fisher, taking away the 2 points and Chiefs’ to try again. Chiefs did not regain the two points, losing to the Steelers.
Kevin Seifert, of NFL Nation, reports that the same referee will be assigned to the Super Bowl. The NFL has yet to make a formal statement.
