New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz said on ‘Timeout with Taylor Rooks’ podcast that the “ball is in their court” when it comes to the Giants organization and his spot on the roster. The 30-year old veteran took a pay cut last season that reduced his base salary from $7.9 to $1.3 million. NJ.com claims that he may need to take another one to remain a Giant as Cruz has a $9.4 million salary cap hit next season.
Cruz has said he wants to remain with the Giants as it’s “home”. We should take into consideration that the Giants could have cut him last season instead of him taking a pay cut.
“I wish that was solely up to me, but that’s the plan. That’s always the plan, to be in a Big Blue uniform for the rest of my career. But (general managers) and owners have to make decisions as well, so we’ll see.”
