CNN confirms that a prison employee has been pronounced dead after inmates took over the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on Wednesday.

The incident started around 10:30am yesterday when it was radioed in for help. The call came from a building that has over 100 inmates. The inmates took four employees hostage and released two of them later that day. The other prison official was rescued safely and treated at the hospital.

James T. Vaughn Correctional is the largest in Delaware with a mix of maximum, medium and minimum security.
