25-year old safety Dayarlo “DJ” Swearinger recently signed with former high school teammate Josh Norman and the Washington Redskins. Swearinger sat down with Redskin reporter and revealed that the late Redskins safety Sean Taylor was his idol. 

“I watched him growing up when he was with Miami Hurricanes. Him and Ed Reed. All those guys in the secondary,” said Swearinger. He mentioned he wore 36 like Taylor did his NFL rookie year. The number 36 also runs in Swearinger’s family as his dad and uncle. Linebacker Su’a Cravens beat Swearinger to a Redskins 36 as he currently wearing 36 in honor of Taylor.

Swearinger went on, “I’m blessed and so ready for the opportunity to follow my idol Sean Taylor.”
