Such a well known franchise playing in one of the most famous stadiums in the world and yet, they don’t have much to show for it.
The New York Knicks have had a rough couple of years with trades, injuries, coaching and anything the New York media can get their hands on. Besides the recent trades for Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, the one that hits the heart is Iman Shumpert and JR Smith who went to win the NBA Championship with Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony’s rival, LeBron James.
Shumpert told HoopsHype that he was hurt when he was traded. However, as time went by and he started to win, all the hurt went away.
“Shortly after we walk in and we get to playing with the Cavs, we go on a long winning streak. I kept thinking back to my old teammates like, ‘Damn, I was hurt and we were losing. Now I come here and I’m playing well and the energy is great.
I just felt like they kind of grabbed me out of hell. And every game was being showcased on TV and we’re winning. It was just crazy. I was happy, but I felt bad too.”
