An employee of the Civilian Complaint Review has been forced to resign after he leaked information on the NYPD officer who killed Eric Garner in July 2014according to NY Daily News. On Tuesday, he leaked the documents that indicate seven complaints and 14 allegations against Officer Daniel Pantaleo prior to the murder of Garner.
Only four of the complaints were substantiated but he was disciplined by two vacation days that were taken from Pantaleo.
Sources say the documents he released was illegal because it violates a state law that protects officers unless approved by judge.
