Teacher In Sex Scandal At CT Boarding School Worked In Danbury


Newstimes reports that a teacher that was mentioned in 50-page report on the sex scandal at Choate Rosemary Hall boarding school worked at a Danbury school.

The Spanish teacher worked at Choate from 1998 to 1999 and in the report, was accused of touching one student inappropriately and sexually assaulting another. the incident happened on a study-abroad program in San Jose.

The report said Rivera-Murillo grabbed the breast of a 15-year-old student and forced a 17-year-old student to have anal sex in a swimming pool. Rivera-Murillo admitted drinking with the students, the report said, but denied engaging in sexual misconduct with any Choate students. – Mackenzie Rigg, Newstimes

He was then fired. However, he found work at Newtown High School from 2005 to 2016 and worked at Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury. He also worked at the Gunnery, a private school in Washington, and was the principal at Wamogo Regional High in Litchfield.
