Chicago CBS reports that two undercover cops were shot by military-styled rifle Tuesday night. The officers were shot on 4300 bock of South Ashland Avenue. Police Department states around 9:10pm, two vehicles pulled up and the occupants started shooting in the direction of the plain clothed officers. they returned fire but didn’t hit anyone. Police found one vehicle and a rifle was found nearby. It is unclear if there was more than one shooter.
The officers were investigating the area in regards to a gang-related shooting that wounded a 150year old boy that day.
Police say that area, known as Back of the Yards, is known for gangs using riles such as AR-15s and AK-47s.
Three people have been arrested.
