There have been several Connecticut natives that have been signed to NFL teams since the 2017 draft according to CT news sources.
Trumbull native, Zach Voytek, was signed to the Buffalo Bills Monday as an undrafted free agent. The 6’5″ offensive lineman played college football at the University of New Haven. Voytek told CT Post, “Getting signed by a team is the easy part of it. Now you have to do the work.”
Austin Calitro, of Danbury, was signed tot he New York Jets. The linebacker played at Villanova and was contacted by five NFL teams following the draft. The other teams were the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Former UCONN star and Norwalk native, Noel Thomas, signed to the Detroit Lions as he made his announcement via Twitter. Thomas set a UCONN school record with100 catches last season. He met with the NY Giants, NY Jets, New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens before Lions offered a contract.
