According to CNN News, Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill last month that adults in Texas can openly carry blades longer than 5.5 inches including:
swords, spears, daggers, sabers, bowie knives and machetes
It does not apply to all areas though like schools, prisons, hospitals, amusement parks, bars or places of worship. Blades are still banned from sporting events.
Texas is not the first state to pass this law. Montana and Oklahoma already have this state law.
