The hackers of the ‘Game of Thrones’ script and episodes warned HBO beforehand. According to CNET, the hackers contacted HBO on July 23rd with a ransom note, demanding $6M. HBO executive replied with $250,000 payment (picture below).

A source claims the email was to delay the hackers and there no intentions on making a payment. The hackers claim they have stolen 1.5TB of data from the company and they have episodes for ‘Ballers’ and ‘Room 104’.
