22-year old Heather Campbell was shot dead by her boyfriend, 25-year old Kyle Lafferty Sunday morning in Columbus Ohio according to PEOPLE.

Lafferty turned the gun on himself according to police.

The neighbor found Campbell and Lafferty dead on the kitchen floor before calling 911. A call was made the day before the murder-suicide about an intense fight between Campbell and Lafferty.

Campbell’s grandmother told the Dispatch the two rented the apartment together after dating for eight months. Campbell and Lafferty both served in the U.S. Navy and she was attentind Ohio State for psychology.

The police spokesperson claims that Laffrety was “potentially going to be an ex-boyfriend”.
