Here’s How Adrian Peterson Can Beat Jim Brown & Marshall Faulk’s Record on Sunday

Adrian Peterson is back on the field with the Washington Redskins and this Sunday, he can change history.

The 33-year old running back is currently sitting at 12 for the most rushing yards in NFL history. He can remodel this list as he’s 3 yards behind Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and 36 yards behind Hall of Famer Jim Brown. If he get’s more than 40 yards against the Arizona Cardinals, he will be in the top 10 and right behind Tony Dorsett (12,739).

Peterson said on NFL Radio (XM), “God willing, on my first run, I can go ahead and break it.”

Pro Football Focus ranks Cardinals defensive line at 27 and Redskins offensive line at 12. He has a high chance of getting 40 yards well into the first couple drives or even the first play.

The top 3 running backs is Emmitt Smith (18,355), Walter Payton (16,726) and Barry Sanders (15,269). Peterson does hold the record for 296 yards in a game.
