A United Airlines attendant told a passenger to place her French bulldog in the overhead bin during the four-hour flight from Houston to New York City. The dog died later in the trip according to Fox News.

Maggie Gremminger told People that she heard the dog barking initially and then it stopped. She went on Twitter to express her sympathy:

I want to help this woman and her daughter. They lost their dog because of an @united flight attendant. My heart is broken
