Baltimore Ravens let go of Jacoby Jones and now the other star receiver who has only played for five seasons. According to ESPN, Torrey Smith wrote a farewell statement to the Ravens organization and fans:
“I will be playing for a different organization, but I will remain committed to the City of Baltimore. I will continue to give back and help build a better future for our young men and women. MY COMMITMENT TO THE CITY IS FOR LIFE. This isn’t a goodbye because I will still be around, and Baltimore will continue to be my home in the offseason and when my career is done. I’m on to the next chapter of my life and football career, but I will see you guys later”
Smith had two big catches in the Super Bowl overtime win against San Francisco 49ers. Smith’s best season was in 2013 when he reached his 1,000 reception yard marker in Week 15. He had 1,128 yards that year.
Smith had 767 yards last season with 11 touchdowns.
Steve Smith seems to be safe in B-more right now.
